Our inspiration came from a black Grandmother born in the 1930s. Vicky Magdalen Peak who passed away in February 2010 in Cleveland Ohio, also known as “Omega” was known and respected for her intestinal fortitude. A successful business owner, mother, and grandmother and mentor. Omega inspired a group of individuals to make the world a better place. Omega loved sports, business, and numerous personal development programs. The creation of FC Omega is a collaborative vehicle providing opportunity though education and persistent hard work. Many of us found our purpose through sport, business and personal development. Omega never tolerated excuses or poor work ethic. She always challenged us to think outside the box and create basic solutions in order to solve complex problems. So we started with sports and the army of volunteers and global leaders in the space helping us has been amazing. All involved in FC Omega can honestly say we are just as pleased for the kid that gets involved for better training or opportunity to play just as much as the one that signs the big contract and plays on television.
Suppose if you could change a system norm and make a difference? That was the question we asked ourselves. We saw a pattern concerning sports for individuals involved at every level. We saw that there were large portions of people that were under recruited and underserved. We saw people advance and could not handle the challenges that accompany success. We saw hardworking people not given an opportunity to advance their career not because of drive, but more due to education and mentorship. Look at the sport of soccer for instance some report of the 1,500,0000 footballers that play in the United Kingdom academy systems only 180 will play professional. In fact, this average may be high.
Yes, our approach is unique some would even say holistic. We believe success on the field and in life are a direct reflection of off field preparation. How many times have you seen someone advance and then suffer a setback or loose it all because they did not transition well? No-one is immune to life and off the field preparation is just as vital as on field performance. There are too many cases of someone mismanaging their money, making poor life decisions exposed on social media or just not adjusting well to their new environment. Omega always said, ”you can't fix stupid”, but we do feel our team can help you mitigate the most common pitfalls facing numerous individuals.
Look we don’t guarantee anything but if you open to learning from others then you've come to the right place. We have many flexible options ranging from augmenting your existing team to support you individually until you put your team in place. What do we get out of it? Too many athletes sit on the sidelines and are not developing or improving their level. Too many coaches don't get an opportunity to play meaningful competition due to their geographic area. Too many referees and staff do not get exposure to higher level venues to learn the game.
There is a bigger problem concerning workforce development. Too many individuals are not even shown or given an opportunity to find meaningful work in the sports industry they love.
We do not take the position that it is any one person in the industry fault - it is what it is. We focus on what we can control which is our actions. We are aggressively realistic we sell no dreams just quality mentorship and leadership grounded by hard work.
